The fee for active participants/students includes unlimited access to all scientific sessions, one complete set of the conference proceedings, access to the exhibition, the Icebreaker Party and Conference Reception on April 16 and the Closing Reception on April 18, 1997.
Workshops on April 15, 1997
The workshop fees are as follows:
CHF 380.- for the whole day workshop
(including coffee break, lunch and lecture material)
CHF 220.- for the half day workshop
(including coffee break, lunch and lecture material)
Technical Tours on April 18, 1997
The fees are CHF 40.- for the half-day tour
(transportation included).
Remittance of fees:
Fees should be paid in Swiss Francs - clearly stating name and address - either by bank transfer (free of charge) to Union Bank of Switzerland, Basel,
Account No. 503.010.18 F (JEC-GI '97), or by cheque or credit card (VISA, American Express, Diners Club, Eurocard/Master Card).
Currency:
The official currency in Austria is the Austrian Schilling (ATS). All official prices such as conference fees,
Workshop and Technical Tour fees and social events, etc. are indicated in Swiss Francs (CHF). At present 1
CHF is approx. 12 ATS. Payment on the spot will be accepted in both currencies at current exchange rates.
Confirmation:
Upon receipt of the correct registration fee, each participant will receive confirmation of registration. Please
bring this confirmation to the registration desk in Vienna as proof of your registration.
Cancellation:
Refund of fees, less 25% administrative charge, can be applied for until January 31, 1997. After this date no
refund can be made for cancellations.
General Remark:
The participant acknowledges that he/she has no right to lodge damage claims against the organisers should
the holding of the conference be hindered or prevented by unforeseen political or economic events, by force
majeure, or should non-appearance of speakers or other reasons necessitate programme changes. With
his/her registration, the participants accept this proviso.
Grants:
Participants whose permanent residence is in one of the Central and Eastern European countries and who are not able to cover the cost of participation may apply for reduced registration and workshop fees. A grant programme to contribute to travel and subsistence cost may also be operative.
Conference Proceedings:
Papers received in time will be published in the Conference Proceedings, available at the Conference. One complete set is included in the registration fee. Additional sets are on sale on the spot at CHF 100.-.

Public Transport
The city of Vienna runs a dens netwok of public transport. The conference venue is linked with this network by the subway station "Kaisermühlen-Vienna Int. Centre". It is recommended to buy either a three-day ticket or a ticket for the whole week.
Hotel accommodation:
Accommodation in various price categories has been reserved
in Vienna. In order to ensure that your hotel reservation will be made as required, it
is necessary to return the "Hotel Reservation Form", as early as possible, but no later than February 28, 1997 to the following address:

Thereafter, requests will be accepted, however, hotel accommodation is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. After this deadline, bookings are only possible against full payment by credit card, and an extra handling fee of CHF 20.- will be charged.
To guarantee your reservation a deposit of CHF 150.is required. Please include either an Eurocheque, payable to AKM Travel, a copy of your bank transfer to Union Bank of Switzerland, Account No. 595.400.01 R or provide a credit card that we shall debit.
Upon receipt of the deposit, each participant will receive a final confirmation with an invoice. Full payment has to be made to AKM Travel before arrival. The hotel voucher will be sent to you about ten days prior to the event or will be handed out at the "Hotel-Excursion-Counter'Hn the Congress Centre. Please present it to the hotel till departure at the latest.
If your hotel reservation is cancelled before February 28, 1997, the deposit will be refunded less CHF 50.- handling fee. If your reservation is cancelled after February 28, 1997, or if you arrive later or leave earlier than on the dates indicated on your reservation form, no refunds can be made.
Any change of reservation will be subject to a handling fee of CHF 20.-. Changes or cancellations have to be made in writing to AKM Travel AG, Basel. Do not contact the hotel directly.
